I like to think that I am ahead of the trends. I look at Parisian It Girl Fashion street style and read a ton of European Fashion blogs and incorporate what I like into my look. Usually those girls have the trends way before they become popular over here. Because lets face it, once they become so popular over here, you are way over it and move on to the next wave.

Given that, I don’t always follow trends because I like to be unique. I mean I was wearing a choker probably a year before they were EVERYWHERE. I remember being in Arizona with my best friends and trying to find some in the stores. we couldn’t! They weren’t selling them yet. Now, they are in every single store – I mean I just saw them in Hallmark! Once everyone starts to look the same, I ditch the look.

With that, get on these looks before everyone else does, so you can call yourself a trendsetter in 2017!

Bold Earrings.

I don’t wear earrings much. In fact, every time I’m getting ready with my best friend for a night out, she adds earrings to my look (love you Nikki!) I am going to make more of an effort in 2017 to add earrings to my looks. I think it goes along the lines of looking like you tried without really trying (that post here)

Bustiers. (or corsets)

S/S 17 Runway: Tibi

I have seen this look for quite some time but not many people around here have dared to wear it out. I bet by the spring, you will see them everywhere. It looks cute over a very thin piece, like a shirt or light button down.

Loud Stripes. (Graphics)

Paco Rabanne S/S 2017

I LOVE stripes. In fact, I just got this sweater with stripes and ruffles and I’m obsessed (I waited for it to be 50% off ;). Well, stripes which will never go out of style are bolder this year.

Pink. (fuchsia, strawberry, rose, and bubble gum)

Celine S/S 2017

Everyone that knows me, knows I love pink lips. It’s a color I wear all year round. I wear a brighter pink lip in the summer and tone it down for the colder months. When it comes to accessories or clothes, I don’t have much pink in my closet – I guess I always feel like I look too young when I wear pink, so I gear towards darker shades like black and navy and grays. #boring #timetoaddpink I am only getting older, so if pink makes me look younger, then I think that is a good thing!

Robes.

I have been seeing more and more robes in the stores and started to really get into them. Robe coats are defiantly the alternative to a peacoat. I think wearing one during the day with a blazer and skirt would be cute or at night with a slip dress and heels 🙂

The Statement Sleeve.

Practically every brand is incorporating these pieces into their lines. It really is a simple way to give your look an instant lift. I am loving it.

and more trends you’ll be seeing:

Neon. Athleisure may or may not be on its way out, but sporty neon hues were all over the runways. I’m hoping the ladies wear the shade this year at my Bachelorette Party! 🙂 I think it’s so fun reminds me of roller skating at the roller rink!

Barbara Bui S/S 2017

Swimwear & swim-reminiscent separates – think high-waisted briefs and bra tops

Stella McCartney S/S 2017

Sheers. Pretty chiffon layers – make sure you have some cute underpinnings!

John Galliano S/S 2017

Square Shoulders. Exaggerated suiting shapes – another aspect of the 80’s

DKNY S/S 2017

Off Whites. cream, bone, and ivory

Narciso Rodriguez S/S 2017
